Extraditions and requisitions file, 1837.

The governor of Ala. may extradite criminals from other states or be asked to return criminals found in Ala. to other states. This process may also be referred to as requisition. This series contains a letter, 1837 July 24, from J.W. McClung to Gov. McVay asking that McVay extradite John and Joseph Wyatt from the state of Miss. The Wyatts stole a male slave belonging to Edward Harris in 1824 and were to be returned to Madison Co., Ala. for trial.
